ΕROCHOS, RED
Μavroudi, Merlot
Protected geographical location Parnassus

"Eros and hous" means "Love for the earth". Our love for the land of Parnassos made us create "Erochos". It is the first wine that was vinified on the estate in 2003 and takes its name from the ancient name of the village of Polydroso.

It is a blend of the Greek variety Mavroudi and the international Merlot. After years of experimentation by the winemaker, in the vineyard and the winery, this variety in combination with the cosmopolitan Merlot proved to be able to give an exceptional result!

Deep red color with purple highlights. Well structured body with rich texture. Aroma of forest fruits and smoky notes. Moderate acidity in the mouth with sweet and soft tannins and moderate aftertaste.

Winemaking / Aging

After careful sorting of the grapes, the two varieties are led separately to the stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation follows. The shelf life of the juice with the marcs ranges from 5 to 8 days, due to the different degree of maturation that the two varieties have.

Terroir

The vineyard is located at an altitude of 450 meters with soil of clay texture and moderate slope, offering good drainage.

Erochos red

Central Greece. The international variety Chardonnay and the Greek one Assyrtiko are cultivated in the vineyards of Lefkes and Anamero, respectively, in the viticultural zone of Parnassus at an altitude of 400-450 meters.
