"Eros (Love) and Hous (earth/land)" means "Love for the land". Our love for the land of Parnassus urged us to create "Erohos". It is the first wine that was vinified on the estate in 2003 and was named Erohos after the ancient name of the village now called Polydroso.
Protected Geographical Indication Parnassus
After the careful sorting of the grapes, the two varieties are led separately into the stainless-steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation follows. The stay of the juice with the marcs varies from 5 to 8 days, due to the different degree of ripeness of each variety.
The varieties of Mavroudi and Merlot, which compose the Red Erohos are cultivated in central Greece, between the two mountain ranges of Parnassus and Giona, and specifically in the locations of Pergamon and Anamero.
The vineyard is located at an altitude of 450 meters with a soil of clayey texture and moderate slope, offering good drainage.
The Red Erohos is a blend of the Greek variety Mavroudi and the international one Merlot. After years of experimentation by the winemaker, in the vineyard and the winery, this variety in combination with the cosmopolitan Merlot turned out to be able to offer an excellent result!
It has a deep red color with purple highlights and a well-structured body with a rich texture. Its aroma reminds you of forest fruits and smoky notes. It is known for its moderate acidity left in the mouth with sweet and soft tannins and its moderate aftertaste.
It accompanies excellently grilled meats or those with red sauces and cheeses.
Served at 14-16ºC.
